NHP Meeting in Philadelphia

Carla Quinn, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, National Hurricane Program (NHP) lead, has provided updates on the program to attendees at the Interagency Coordinating Committee on Hurricanes Annual Meeting at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region III offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 28, 2018.
NHP is administered by FEMA in partnership with the NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center and Baltimore District, as a part of the Corps’ Planning Center of Expertise for Coastal Storm Risk Reduction.
The Army Corps helps develop and maintain products and tools to help with planning and decision making for emergency managers.
Information gathered in this study feeds a Hurricane Decision Support Platform, which is a storm-tracking and decision-support tool for emergency managers that the Corps operates and maintains through NHP.
The study is expected to be completed by the start of the 2019 hurricane season.
