“Heron is proud to have been a part of this great project with our JV partners C&R Developments and our client Lyttelton Port of Christchurch,” the company announced.

Heron also added that the dredge spread has now mobilised up to Napier commencing dredging on the port’s 6 Wharf Project.

The company is the key subcontractor undertaking the essential dredging works for the 6 Wharf Project.

Over the next 18 months, the local community will be able to see the GPK working in the harbour.

The new wharf – 350 meters long and 34 meters wide – will be built on piles alongside the existing container terminal.

With separate mooring bollards and the dredging programme, it will enable the port to handle vessels up to 360 meters in length.
