According to the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) latest announcement, bids for this contract were solicited via the internet with five received.

Work will be performed in Port Arthur, Texas, with an estimated completion date of April 25, 2024.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, is the contracting activity.

The Port of Port Arthur is in close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, located on the Sabine Neches Waterway that connects the world to inland waterways, highways, railroads and pipelines throughout North America.

It is strategically located midway on the barge shipping routes of the intercoastal waterway that extends from St. Marks, Florida to Brownsville, Texas. The Sabine-Neches Ship Channel is part of that system with channel depths to safely accommodate large petro-chemical tankers and cargo ships.
