Scarborough redevelopment project available for public review
The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) has just announced that the Final Report for Scarborough’s Urban Redevelopment has been approved for public review.
THA commissioned JMetrix Ltd to further develop the conceptual plan presented at the first tranche of public consultations held in February – March 2022.
The aim of the Scarborough Urban Redevelopment Project is to transform Scarborough into a functioning modern city, capable of providing both civic and tourism related amenities.
Under this project over 30 acres of land will be reclaimed from the sea, which includes a water park, terminal complex, a relocated domestic terminal, three piers, James Park redesign, Scarborough Esplanade redevelopment, a transport hub and an urban housing plan.
The redevelopment project will also eliminate the risk of future flooding in Scarborough.
