THA commissioned JMetrix Ltd to further develop the conceptual plan presented at the first tranche of public consultations held in February – March 2022.

The aim of the Scarborough Urban Redevelopment Project is to transform Scarborough into a functioning modern city, capable of providing both civic and tourism related amenities.

Under this project over 30 acres of land will be reclaimed from the sea, which includes a water park, terminal complex, a relocated domestic terminal, three piers, James Park redesign, Scarborough Esplanade redevelopment, a transport hub and an urban housing plan.

The redevelopment project will also eliminate the risk of future flooding in Scarborough.
